Finally! Pain free - at least at times.

I have suffered referred pain from an old neck injury for about six years now. I've given up on the nerve pain drugs that make you too spaced out to do anything, the shots are dangerous, and the PT only takes care of so much. Meditation and Mindfulness are helping me immensely, relax the tense bracing muscles, relax my jaw and reduce my headaches. This seems a much better treatment for me then all the things I've tried before.
Excellent book. Very good meditation CD included.

Don't buy Kindle version thinking you will get narration or "audio/video content" as advertised

This review is not about the book's content but only the Kindle edition with its promise of "audio-video content."
The above advertising is misleading. It makes it sound like you will get narration & you don't. I am not sure what if any audio content you DO get - I did not find any whatsoever inside Kindle when I ordered the ebook. I have contacted Amazon requesting to return the book for a refund.

A real solution to managing chronic pain

I just finished reading “You are Not your Pain” by Vidyamala Burch and Danny Penman. I wanted to read the book in its entirety before implementing the program. After reaching the end, I wish there were a printable chart available where I could, at a glance, see what is on my mindfulness agenda for the day. Particularly when reading the Kindle version, it’s hard to flip back and forth to see which meditations I should do on which day. There may be a resource like this already, I just haven’t found it at the Breathworks site yet. I can see this mindfulness approach as being quite possibly the BEST solution to managing my own chronic pain and depression and am looking forward to actually starting the program and following it as instructed.
