I bought this for my freshman son's class at the Catholic school he is attending. While I can't comment on the content, overall I saved about $300 by buying his books on Amazon as opposed to the school bookstore (even their used books were much more expensive).

Cool collection of social/political essays, worth reading for LaVey fans

While l am a fan of this and all of Anton Lavey's books, this one would probably be my least favourite. He goes off on a few rabbit trails and rambles a bit, sometimes to the point that you're not totally sure what he means. Still, there is plenty of knowledge and insight to be taken from Satan Speaks. lt was written when LaVey was an old man close to death, which means you get his final, most complete view of the given topics near the end of his life experience. Cynicism and sarcasm abound, as well as his trademark dark humour.

For Completists Only

If you’re interested in what modern (LaVeyan) Satanism is all about, read the Satanic Bible. If that lights a fire for you and you want more, read the Satanic Rituals.
If you’re interested in the ideas of the firebrand who made modern Satanism what it is, read The Devil’s Notebook. That book is witty and well-written, introducing such great Laveyan concepts as “The Goodguy Badge.” I recommend it very highly to people who want to see why Lavey has a following today. In that book, his wit and insight are displayed to very good effect.
If you’ve read all the other books and can’t get enough of The Black Pope, only then should you buy this book. This book was Lavey’s last before his death in 1997 and it is just lukewarm - lacking the sharpness and punch of his earlier works. The difference even seems to be reflected in the choice of a cover for this book: purple with a cartoon devil head on it instead of the Baphomet. It just seems less… sinister and less dignified than the earlier books. This book feels as though it's composed of the pieces which didn’t make the cut for The Devil’s Notebook. For completists only.

When I read this book, for some reason it makes me think about Anton packing his bags and saying "I'm done here." Especially the first few essays, when he talks about the apocalypse and how it's exactly how Christian America made it to be. I'm not sure exactly what this thought means, being as I don't believe in an afterlife. Perhaps his death was a departure from reality and then his vitality was transformed into our fond memories of him.
Mr. La Vey was a very opinionated man and this work reflects that. It's as casual as a book can ever be and is funny too. I especially like the essay on how he dislikes music played in stereo rather than with a single speaker. I swear, he's the only person I've known who dislikes stereo. I own the Satanic Bible and have read it many times, despite being scared of it when I first bought it. Of all the books Anton wrote, I would give this one to people who are interested in Satanism but don't know where to start.

old minds never die young

62 year old on the last rings of my life - want to keep the brain functioning - liked math in high school, so i'm just doing problems each night before bed - wish i had this series in school - programmed with answers following, so you get immediate feedback on what you've done - makes learning fun and keeps me alive in the brain and in my head and in my mind - so far the whole math series is great

I am glad I did

I am a non-traditional premed student, and I have not taken a math class since High School, nine years ago. I was struggling the first couple weeks of class before I realised that I needed extra help. I purchased this book based on previous reviews; I am glad I did. The chapters are written nearly in sync with the flow of my class and the authors explain the concepts and definitions better than my professor and class textbook. I have disregarded my textbook and resorted to Demystified for all explanations and help. My midterm grade was an 'A', and I have no doubts that with hard work and the use of this book that I will ace this class. I highly recommended the Demystified Precalc book for anyone who needs clarification or extra help.

Get This Book on The 1st Day of Your Course...

I wished I would have gotten this book last year during the fall semester 2014 I would have passed and not gotten an F, I could not pass any test during the fall semester no matter how hard I study I could not remember. Even though I order this book 21 days before Spring 2015 finals, and 13 days after the last test before the final (which I had failed with a 52). This book had help me such a great deal. That I did pass the final, and I pass the class with a C. Had I purchased this but during the semester, I would have had pass this class with an "A". The college give ever everyone a study package exam for the final, I used this to study along with my package exam, even those who were high up in the class did not understand the study package for the final, when I start explaining at least 50 question of the finals, pulled out my note book, and showing the step by step how to do each question, some comments were., "You are going to do very well on this final."

Word to the wise, if your college give you a study package for the final, study that package, go on youtube, get many idiot, dummy books. 90% of those question from the package is on the final.

This is a must have book if you have never had college algebra/algebra in high school.

Mi Charlie tarde pero seguro jaja si amé Una extraña en mi ventana esta securla no se queda atrás, desde el principio ame a Logan y con esta secuela me enamoré mas aun. Una historia divertida y refrescante, llena de amor. Debo decir que me encanta las historias paranormales y esta no es la excepción. Se la re comiendo a todos y no solo este sino todos los de mi gran amigo Ambros Still.

About the Author
Wilfred L. F. Armarego graduated BSc (Hons) in 1953 and PhD from the University of London in 1956 and came to Australia in that year. After two years at the Central Research Laboratories (ICIANZ) in Melbourne, where he worked on plant growth substances, and one year on potentially carcinogenic polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons at the University of Melbourne as Senior Demonstrator in Organic Chemistry, he joined the Department of Medical Chemistry as a Research Fellow in 1960. He became a Fellow in 1963 and was awarded a DSc degree (London) in 1968. He was promoted to Senior Fellow in 1967 and began research work on the biochemistry and molecular biology of pteridine-requiring enzymes related to the inherited metabolic disease phenylketonuria and its variants. He was head of the Protein Biochemistry Group and Pteridine Biochemistry Laboratory until his retirement in 1996. He is now a visiting fellow at the John Curtin School of Medical Research, and member of the editorial boards of ‘Medicinal Research Reviews’ and ‘Pteridines’ journals.

I am very satisfied with this book

It is difficult to make any statements of validity from my point of view as I am not trained in, nor educated in the field of chemistry except through self teaching. This wealth of information can only be the result of a river of sweat churned out by chemists living throughout the ages of which the authors drank heartily who then through much trial and sweat of their own gave it to us as honey. This book holds overwhelming amounts of it's subject matter and the methods to purify through straight forward descriptive techniques. I am very satisfied with this book!

Bible for procedure development

A must-read for both Technical & Training Dept. personnel. Any manager or supervisor who begrudges the cost/time required to develop & train on procedures would benefit by reading this book. This book clearly delineates the difference between technical writing & proper procedure development. The Index in the Kindle edition should have had hyperlinks and not be a mere list of terms.

Great book, helpful for us

Since I received this book as a gift from an older coworker years ago, I've read this book a couple times and given it as a gift two other times. Spouse also loves it. Even though we each do not match up on all the points, it's been an excellent guide to better understanding and communicating for both of us. It was good when we were starting out in our relationship, and good for us now after more than a decade. Highly recommend.

Great book

Reminds me a lot of "Men are From Mars, Women are From Venus" but with a focus on the workplace. As a women in a male dominated workforce (US military), I found myself shaking my head and saying, wow, how many times has that happened and yes, I can relate to that. But even more so, I found myself laughing out loud! Great read!

A book to help make communication easier

"You Just Don't Understand" is a very readable book with plenty of examples and data to back it up. I found it to be amazingly accurate and it really has helped me communicate better with men. I know that sounds so weird, but there really are differences in how many men and women use language. For example, most men use language to convey information and to create a pecking order. Most women use language to create bonding and to create an even playing field without a pecking order. In understanding those differences and more, I am now better able to understand why a man may say certain things and hence better able to take it as it in the spirit it was given, rather than feeling hurt. It also has helped me speak to men in a way that they will understand and will not see as demeaning myself in the pecking order.
Over all I found this book an entertaining read and very practical. If you have ever been frustrated in a conversation with the opposite gender, this book may shed some light.
